K-DRAMA SECOND LEAD APPRECIATION

Being K-drama fans ya'll are crazy for the second leads just like I am and frankly most fans are. So who is a second lead in Kdrama?

That poor absolutely beautiful creature made by God who sadly gets trapped in the friend zone by the main lead who is also the sweetest to the main lead but she still ends up liking the jerk over the honey bun. The guy we all are secretly rooting for in the drama to end up with the main girl.
I just never ever understand how these second leads get rejected. I mean yes the main lead is great and all but how can you choose the other one so easily over the second leads? they are the sweetest most caring creatures who would love you from afar in isolation and still wish all the happiness of the world for the female lead and I can't even understand how this happens. OUR SECOND LEADS DESERVE SO MUCH BETTER.

1- Kim Jung Hwan (Reply 1988)

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE second lead in the history of second leads. Words can't describe how amazing this guy was. Not only as a lover but damn Jung Hwan was the sweetest son, brother, friend anyone could ever have. I love Taek but damn I was so rooting for Duk Seon with Jung Hwan. I swear if he had been able to confess first he would have gotten her but damn.

2- Baek In Ho (Cheese in Trap)

I can never understand how Seol even remotely liked Jung Yoo AL ALL. I mean he was a total sociopath. Sorry, don't hate me but I never rooted for them. On the other hand my baby In Ho, boy my second lead syndrome was at peak here. He was so sweet and fun to be around.

3- Shin Hyuk (She was Pretty)

Now wasn't he everyone's favorite character? He definitely was the funniest. And he liked Hae Jin even before her glow up. He liked her for who she was. And it sucked to see his heart getting broken in the drama. He was obviously in so much pain. *cries a river*

4- In Guk Doo (Strong Woman Do Bong Soon)

Again, love is all about timing. If he had confessed earlier, he would have gotten her. Guk Doo was such a nice friend to Bong Soon. He protected her like no other. And frankly I wasn't a huge fan of the main leads so I shipped him with Bong Soon even harder. ;_;

4- Choi Young Doo (The Heirs)

This guy is the ultimate heart throb. I loved Young Do's aggressive side as much as I loved his soft one. Again, I wasn't a fan of Eun Sang and Kim Tan at all and totally rooted for her to end up with Young Do. When typically the aggressive love works for the main female lead, it didn't this time and Young Do's heart got broken. I swear it would have totally work on me lmao. How can you reject that handsome face??!! How I ask you??!!

5- Gong Tae Kwang (School 2015)

Tae Kwang was the perfect mix of cute and hot which got beaten up by a totally boring Han Yi An. Come again?! Tae Kwang was the cutest bean. His friendship with Eun Bi was just adorable. A friend who was always there for her. Kept her secret. Protected her. And was later thrown away in the friend zone. Nice work Eun Bi. *slow claps*

6- Yoon Ji Hoon (Boys Over Flowers)

Oh how his efforts must be appreciated. Confessed to the girl, got her and happily gave her away to his friend. Setting the bar higher for all the guy friends out there. The sweetest second lead ever. However, I do have to be honest, this time I was actually rooting for Goo Jun Pyo with JanDi.

7- Shin Woo (My Lovely Girl)

Okay first of all, HOW HOT IS MYUNGSOO SERIOUSLY??!! I can't emphasis on how much I hated Yoon Sena for choosing Hyun Wook over this hottie. He was so fond of her. And I would watch every single scene of Shin Woo with Sena a thousand times cause they were that cute together. shin Woo is without a doubt one of my absolute favorite second leads. I mean seriously look at them...

8- Han Woo Tak (While You Where Sleeping)

A HEART THROB. Now I didn't feel this second lead syndrome as hard as the others. That's cause hey didn't show him as big of a lover until the end. I wanted more scenes of them together so we could know more about his feelings for her. Nonetheless he was so adorable and understanding. Loved this one.

9- Seo Ha Joon (Sassy Go Go)

Our poor Jisoo is always the second lead in the dramas lmao. I love him so much. And I loved him so much in this drama. He was so hard on the outside and so soft on the inside. He never tried for Kang Yeon Do for his best friend *another hottie*. We see such a lovely friendship between Ha Joon  and Kim Yeol. Ha Joon was a lovable second lead.

10- Shin Se Gi (Kill Me Heal Me)

Now I didn't find this second lead as pitiful probably because they are all inside one person and I loved Cha Do Hyun. However, Shin Se Gi definitely stole more hearts through his hard-soft personality who loved Ri Jin so much. I used to get so excited whenever his personality popped up *_*

11- Hwang Sung Yeol (High School Love On)

I'm wasn't a huge fan of Seul bi and Woohyun, they were too cringy for me. Initially, I really loved Sungyeol but as time passed by his character became so aggressive. He almost became too rude to Seul Bi for not liking him back. I kinda disliked him a bit for that. He had such a pitiful character in the drama tho ;_;

He refused to share the umbrella with her at first but eventually gave it to her and left

12- Ha Neul (Entertainer)

I totally totally shipped Suk ho and Geu Rin together. Shin Suk Ho was the maaannnn!! But boy our Ha Neul was so sweet and cute. He was such a baby and sadly caught up in the brother-zone which is so much worse than a friend zone. That's probably why she never saw him as a man but like a younger brother which is so messed up.

13- Kang Shin Woo (You're Beautiful)

A typical second lead who is the sweetest, most caring human being ever, who found out about Go Mi Nyu's secret first and kept it the whole time. Who helped her and protected but was not able to win her heart. Our pitiful second lead. I really wanted to see them together. Eventually I got to see them together in Heartstrings. *cheers*
